pp108 : Skipping a Task

Skipping a Task

This topic describes the procedure to skip a task.

You can skip tasks before they are completed if required. Once the task is skipped, it will be removed from the work list. In order to display the skipped tasks in the work list, the work list manager has to select the Show Non-workable tasks in the Work list check box, while setting work list preferences on the Inbox.

  1. On CUSP > My Applications App Palette, click (My Inbox).
The My Inbox window appears, displaying the personal tasks, by default.
  2. Right-click the required task from the work list and select Skip. Alternatively, you can select Skip from the More Operations drop-down list on the Task Toolbar. A Skip Reason dialog box is displayed.
  3. Provide a reason for skipping the task in the Memo text box and click OK. The selected task is skipped and the status of the task changes to Obsolete.
Note: It is mandatory to provide a reason for skipping any task.
    The selected task is skipped.

In a business process, if a dependent task is modeled to wait for the completion of this task, then the business process will be in the Wait state until the task status is changed to Complete in the Process Instance Manager.
